High Definition Camcorders - The Latest in Quality Videography!

We're living in a great time, to know that there are high definition camcorders out there to capture every little thing on the other end of the lens. Since the time that movie cameras came about, people have been filming one another: family, friends, situations both real and unreal. Of course, that doesn't mean that everything recorded has been amusing to everyone. From the start, bored relatives and friends have needed to endure both the good and the bad. Of course, with high definition camcorders, it needn't be that way.

Fortunately, with the latest in high definition camcorders, and video editing software, you shoot and edit a movie as easily as typing and editing in a word processor.

This also ensures that you'll have great quality to your recordings. High definition camcorders can provide you DVD quality every time. You can add great effects, and enhancements to the already ideal images.

So what does high definition really mean to you? It means that the quality of the picture and sound of your recordings is enhanced dramatically. Benefits include:

  • Higher sharpness of the picture
  • Larger picture
  • More colours
  • Wider picture
  • Digital CD quality sound

You'll have at least 6 times the resolution of a standard camcorder recording, with twice the frames per second of NTSC - a full 60 frames per second. Motions in your recordings will be notably smoother, and the picture will be so clear that you'd be able to sit very close to a large screen and still appreciate every detail.

Essentially, you'll experience a superior feeling of realism to your camcorder recordings.

Two examples of these fantastic new high definition wonders are:

1. JVC GR-HD1 - which records in high definition at 720p on standard MiniDV tapes. This means that while your recording is the same on the tapes (about 60 minutes on a standard MiniDV tape), your quality will be far superior. Furthermore, a selectable output makes it possible for you to decide between 1080i, 720p HD playback, or down-converting it to 480p or 480i standard definition so that you can play it back on any TV, high definition or not. It also offers either full manual or automatic control. Its specific shutter speeds and lens aperture/iris settings are able to be locked in. You can calibrate your white balance manually. There are separate lens rings to allow you to focus and zoom for the highest manual control. The optical image stabilizer eliminates the jiggles while you're filming, without losing any picture quality or high definition resolution. Get amazing detail with it's 10x optical zoom! Moreover, pictures are stored on an SD memory card (provided), in MPEG2, allowing you to edit using MPEG Edit Studio Pro LE video editing software in Windows XP.
2. Sony HDR-FX1 Handycam - The worldwide camcorder market leader now has a high definition camcorder with 1080 interlaced lines of resolution - with its highest resolution at 1440 pixels by 1080 lines. This camcorder is considered to be best-in-class, with its high resolution recording further enhanced by its three-chip, one-megapixel Super HAD™ CCDs. Its improvements include an on-chip micro-lens on top of the CCD sensor for the greatest light focusing rate possible. It also has a state-of-the-art 16:9 aspect mode so that it can record in high definition widescreen. Each lens has its own megapixel imager so that intense, expert quality detail and colour can be captured. Each of the camcorder's three 1/3-inch, 16:9 CCDs utilize Carl Zeiss® Vario-Sonnar® T* optics minimizes any warping while it manages to maximizing sharpness and contrast.
